Has anyone here spent time in the staff college in Toronto?   What are the NCM quarters like?

Why would there be NCM quarters at a Staff College?

With the exception of a few rooms in the officers mess at Armour Heights there are no quarters at CFCSC. I caveat that with unless they have build some since 1992

Well, there's got to be quarters because that is where I'm going and where I was told I'll be staying.

I don't know the Staff College at all, but there's not always "NCM/Officer" quarters.  Moose Jaw for example only has the one building and any NCMs that are support staff there all stay in the same building as the Officers.  Most smaller bases only have one building and everyone stays there.

Cheers

The Ralston Residence (students, seminar attendees, guest staff, visiting lecturers, etc) is a multifloor dormitory along the south side of the campus.  I don't know if all rooms are the same - bathroom, bedroom, sitting/study room with small underfurnished kitchenette (IIRC it had a microwave and refrigerator), TV, VCR, and computer terminal.  There are communal laundry and sitting areas as well.

New quarters were built in approx 2000 / 01. There were other, older quarters there as well.

Sorry,

Couldn't say, and don't want to find out.  I am #47 of 47 on the national selection list for the next course.  #48 ought to be very happy, because he will be taking my place....

Mark C - Now, now ... many others have survived it
(keep an open mind - it won't be the worst year of your life, unless you want it to be).

Tree Hugger - I spent four years on staff there (actually accorded DS status - I've got that in writing).
The new quarters were built because there were so many "road-runners" who left their families behind, rather than drag them to Toronto for only one year - it was more economical to build quarters instead of paying IR ...
