Does anyone know if the video footage shot at Stalwart Guardian is posted on the internet somewhere? I know there was a VHS tape made up with all the footage - we were going to watch it on the bus ride home but the bus was only equipped with a DVD player.

They had said that all the pictures and video footage would be posted on the SG website but I could only find a few pics and no video.

Thanks in advance.

Actually that VHS had footage from last year... specifically the footage of last years Para Company.

As for video footage from this year, I haven't seen any yet.

Seemed like all the media was fixed on the infantry all Ex anyways...

"God dammit troops, work on your pretty boy poses for next years Ex, then maybe we'll get some media coverage" - A maj.'s wise words as we stepped onto the bus headed for home  ;D

Frankly, once again I thought the bus video was a rediculous waste of funds. Making it look like several news reports put together is just laughable. I was more interested in the real news footage at the end even though the one we watched was horribly edited. Judging from what I heard on the bus, the focus needs to be on what everyone was actually doing. There was a brief 30 second part with action clips set to music that people liked, and on the rare occasion they actually said who they were showing, that got people hoping to see themselves or someone else from their unit. Simply put, we need to see more of what we've actually done that week, and less of that ENN graphic/ that reporter lady talking. There are too many people rolling their eyes and laughing at the video when there should be cheers and excitement for coming out next year and doing it again!

hey my buddies are on that vid los is the guy whos like "i guess it could help overseas"   but yea that video sucked *** i was sickened to see the joke they made out of us on the ride home it made me sad oh well theres no such thing as bad media coverage eh.. :warstory: :army:

by the way spidy is a damn good dancer

I had actualy removed my previous post, and since I can not edit it to add anything, ill just start a new reply.
This was my original post:

So, is this elusive video available for download anywhere?, do all units concerned have access to said video?, can they make copies for their soldiers within their units so that they can take them home and show mom/pop, wife, girlfriend/significant other what they actually do when they go away on FTX's?
If not, I have a proposal (or should I say Idea)...
From what I can glean over the few posts that are here, what most people want is a "Hooah!" type video, that encompasses the meat and potatoes of what the Ex was all about, no? Something that you can show the aforementioned people and tell them what you do in the Army,no?
Would it be plausible to have such a video?, in my opinion, yes...we do have Army News and all it's resources. I would have no problem in spending the time filming and taking stills. then putting together a 5 to 10 min video on the Ex(if I were in the position to do so), so that all participating units would get a copy. It would however be the responsibility of those units to distribute individual copies to unit members.
I think this would be a good idea, if not just for the fact that the member would have something to show their loved ones and say "See this is what I do".

Questions, answers, problems, suggestions?

I'll pass it on - the idea of a video that could be downloaded (for "free") makes a lot of sense, since it would greatly reduce costs (i.e. if for the sake of argument we were to imagine that we couldn't even afford to buy CDs/DVDs to distribute free copies to everybody ... there's little or no excuse for a "virtual" video ...)

Thanks - I wouldn't be suprised if my friends haven't already thought of this, but ... better safe than sorry - besides, it helps them if they get feedback (good, bad, indifferent ... it's all better than silence ...)

new video has been added to the official website

P.S. read the captions below the newscasters. What a hoot  :D

Yup - my friends tell me they wanted to do the download thing from the very start, but ... some people wanted to do things the old-fashioned way ... (and, when I posed the question about hosting downloads, the impression I got was that they'd run into a brick wall ... thus I'm surprised to see a video is now available ... which kinda makes me wonder if "the message finally got through" ... ya never know ...)

Also - re: the bus that had the wrong format - apparently the plan was for every bus to have both a DVD and a video (i.e. just in case the bus couldn't play one or the other) - thus, if there was a bus that had only one format, it would seem that the second/backup format "went for a walk" ...
