hey, i have been hearing alot of talk about the wait that you have 2 endure until you can finally join up. I was hoping to start basic training in the spring, is that a lil far fetched? im going in this week to talk to a recruiter and hopefully get sighned up, whats next? a medical, a physical?
whys it such a long process, i was hoping this would be my summer job,

You might be able to get in on the summer courses, it all depends on how fast your paperwork moves.

i heard recruiting is at an all time low, could this be a reason why people don‘t want to join? lose interest over a while?

I believe recruiting is at all time low because a underfunded military does not contain much appeal to a potential recruit. For example ask a handful of civilians to give you their opinons(which aren‘t worth the breath they used to utter them)about our military. The United States Military wants 250,000 new recruits this year that is more than double all Candian Armed forces personel employed currently in both regular force and reserve force (thats navy air and army)The paper work takes so long because they now have to wait for the end of the fiscal year for their budget to begin to run their new courses. The process goes like this you do a apptitude test which tells the recruiter what you are qualified for then sign a bunch of paper work after which you will probably be scheduled for an interveiw with a recruiter then a physical consisting of push ups sit ups and a step test and then a medical. After all this your paper work will be sent away and yourself subject to a security check. :soldier:
