Still in highschool.

Hello all,
My name is Kim, and currently still in highschool.(grade eleven)
For some time now i have been looking to enlist, but i keep putting it off,
but im sure i am ready now, my question is simple. I plan to, in August 2008 to
start my enlistment process. I have only chosen to do so in such a prolonged period of time because,
i need to buck up on becoming more physically fit. Anyway my question is, if i start my enlistment process in
August will i be able to attend the fall basic training? And when does that normally commence?

also what advice can anyone give me on enlisting , i am aware that I am young only seven- teen i am also aware that i am female...
But this is definatley something i would really like to do, and i don't want to wait any longer.

Maybe, maybe not. Not one person here will be able to tell you.

I joined at 17.....no problems there.

i am also aware that i am female...

I certainly would hope that you are aware that you are female...LOL

But what does being female have to do with anything ?

But this is definatley something i would really like to do, and i don't want to wait any longer.

Where I live (Windsor) fall basic training starts in October. I don't know if different areas have different months they start BMQ. As for getting in, it all depends on how fast your paperwork and tests gets done. For some people it could take two to three months, for others it could take a year. My advice: hand in your application as soon as possible, you never know if any complications will arise with your file. 

I was in the same boat as you. I was originally planning on handing in my application in July (same reason as you) but a recruiter asked me why I chose to wait so long. He gave me the same advice and told me to hand it in ASAP. I did and I still had time to get into great shape.
