A student has been suspended from school in America for coming to class dressed as a pirate.

But the disciplinary action has provoked controversy – because the student says that the ban violates his rights, as the pirate costume is part of his religion.

If other religions are permitted freedom of expression in the public sphere, why not Pastafarianism?

would it be a sin to eat pasta if one was pastafarian? or is it sacred? if anybody has a link on this, let him/her speak.

This is horrible, I mean if he was wearing some Muslim garb or ceremonial Sheik knife nothing would  have been said. But because it's a pirate outfit and some people think our religion is silly they discriminate and punish!

Bah to heck with you, I have my volcanoes of beer and stripper factories awaiting me, what have you got?

Spread the faith my Pastafarian brother.....

For the record it was JM who showed me the path.

this kinda makes me wonder if theres any other religions even close to pastafarianism. I turn once again to my faithful friend, google.ca

Maybe the fact that the first flying of the Jolly Roger was from the Lost Templar fleet, and since members of the the Knights Templar were part of the very first crusade, and subsequent occupation of the Outremere....

Stop Global warming and become a pirate!   It is said that there is a direct correlation between Global Warming and the ever decreasing amount of pirates in the world

Along with some of you people, I have too much time on my hands, too---at times---

I thought I'd heard of this before (Flying Spaghetti Monster), so I went to the site of all wisdom-BBC h2g2

I am truly sorry for those Pastafarian children who are persecuted by the religiously intolerant.

I myself am--of course--paternally tolerant of their misguided devotion to the Flying Spaghetti Monster. I follow the ONE TRUE FAITH.  All ye who seek the truth would do well to linger a while in this place;

That just show that religion freedom is still a myth !

Of course, the ones that believe in the invisible pink uniform have it easier,
sigh !
