Thanks, I'm tracking the issue. We seem to be under significant load, +90% higher than typical traffic. I'll update when I have more!

Having issues with the search function, "Server errors"

Thanks for keeping the site working, it's appreciated.

Having issues with the search function, "Server errors"

Thanks for keeping the site working, it's appreciated.

I'll sometimes go to Google and use "site:army.ca keywords" to find things.

Thanks, turns out the system was running out of memory, and the search indexer (elasticsearch) is a bit of a memory hog. The "out of memory manager" for the server was killing it.

Ironically, due to other recent server issues, I ratcheted up the early out of memory aggression, contributing to this problem. Should be fixed, for now.

[PMedMoe]

Site is running extremely slow for me.

Likewise. Keeps crashing on my end.

[Mike Bobbitt]

Same... looking into it as I'm able.

Thanks for your patience!

[Mike Bobbitt]

Update: Disabled the search indexer for now, things are responsive... but search won't work.

Pretty sure some (large number of) asshats in St Petersburg is to blame.

I noticed that when I tried to log in from my phone yesterday I was getting redirected to a bunch of ads?

Before you log in you'll get the "public" experience, which can feel a bit like being teleported into a casino.

Or landing in Vegas at the airport

Thanks Mike for not being annoyed when I tell you the site is down.

A round of applause my friend....

[Mike Bobbitt]

As you can see Bruce, we are not out of the woods yet!

Thanks for letting me know when there are issues.

[Rifleman62]

Very slow to load in Kelowna, if at all.

Did an unplanned server upgrade. Seems to have helped! Fingers crossed it stays ok.

So I guess this is how we learn this whole site is a psyop hosted on Yandex.
