Taking Courses Part-Time

Just wondering if anyone has any advice for taking part-time courses on your own time, as far as being sent somewhere midway through the course. I don't want to loose my tuition, but as I see it the only way to guarantee that would be not to sign up at all. Can you get approval from your CoC to minimize the chances of being sent somewhere during your course? The course goes from Nov '07 - Apr '08.

Also, who would I ask about reimbursement/subsidization - I am a Sig looking to take an Emergency Medical Technician program. It's almost $5000, would I have a chance of being reimbursed?

Why don't you just VOT and save yourself the coin.  If not go here for the info you require http://www.cda.forces.gc.ca/dlm/engraph/services/er/finance_e.asp

Don't want to remuster, just want the courses. Thanks for the link.

Your pretty much on your own when it comes to courses other than military bud.  The best advice I can give you is ensure that your CoC knows what you are doing and what your overall goals are.  I write a memo and try to mitigate any potential problems whenever I try to take a course that may impact on military commitments.

As for reimbursement my best advice is go see the BPSO's office as they have the best info, but I think you aren't covered by the current educations plans for what you want.  The only other reference I can give you is to check out CBI 210.802 SKILLS COMPLETION PROGRAM - REGULAR FORCE as it may be the only education plan that fits what you want.

edited for horrible grammar and spelling.

to get the queen to reimbursh you all you need to do is fill out an ILP and submit it to the local PSO office, if it it less than $25000 it requires only local approval. As for coursing taking you away from it, if your Trg WO knows whats up in your life they may avoid crse loading you during the period, if it's a carreer crse - the type loaded by DGMC you're hooped, theres no getting out of them without some serious restrictions.
