I think I'm getting ripped off. ;D
Seriously though, Doctors typically make significant 6 figure salaries. But they also have to pay the office overhead from said salary. For all intents and purposes they are small business owners. So after all gets said and done, they may only take a small portion of that salary home. (at least that is the case for GP's)
Majors and (some) CWOs in the CF make six figure salaries, so do a lot of civil servants with one (bachelor's degree) and few years of experience. General practitioners/family physicians are the people who seem to be is shortest supply here in Canada - maybe it's not surprising given that, after a very long, grueling education/development regime, they are paid about the same as a Capt/MWO.
Specialist require even longer to reach their earning potential - if a specialist enters university at 18 (s)he doesn't start (high wage earning) practice until the age of 30+ - and then, as Cupper points out, they have to pay to run their small business.
Those (few) doctors who think they are under-taxed, are, as Brad Sallows says, free to make a donation to the Government of Canada.
For my part I am pleased that my physician, my accountant and the engineers and technicians who keep me safe are adequately paid for their education, skill and dedication. I am less enamoured with the pay : performance ratio of e.g. hockey players, bureaucrats in Veterans Affairs, CBC newsreaders and whoever is charge of clearing ice off the sidewalks in Ottawa.
