Greetings, fellow Army.ca forum readers.
Quick question. It's that time of year again, where we go through a selection of Christmas traditions. One of those is the "At Home," where the members of the Officer's Mess and the WO's and Sgt's Mess have a visit. Traditionally, the location switches from year to year; one year at the Officer's Mess, the following year at the WO's and Sgt's Mess, and back again the year after that.
I was once taught that, due to the switching nature of the event, the "At Home" has two names:
* When at the Officer's Mess, the event is "Officers At Home to the WOs and Sgts"
* When at the WO's and Sgt's mess, the event is "WO's and Sgt's At Home to the Officers"
Can anyone out there confirm that this is, indeed, the case, preferably with a reference of some sort? Neither the CF Manual of Drill and Ceremonial, nor the publication "Honours and Heritage of the CF," has anything to say on this subject.
Comments, Suggestions, Thoughts?
Cheers!
