I believe the Canadian Defence Force policy to stop the "Danger Pay" once a soldier leaves the war zone even he or she is wounded is right.
The issue is how to deliver this news to the wounded soldier and his or her family. The administrative officer must have utmost respect to the wounded soldier and his or her family and should wait until the appropriate time comes before releasing the news.
The policy also states that the soldier will continue to receive the "Danger Pay" for 25 days. So why hurried to give the news to the soldier's father.
Once the soldier is wounded, the "Danger Pay" will stop after 25 days and another compensation package will start as soon as possible.
As a U.S. Army Officer, I wonder do anyone ask another interesting question.
"Why did our Government, Canadian Government, the Conservative Government of Stephen Harper sent 2,200 soldiers to Afghanistan ?"
The Liberal did start the mission but Stephen Harper and his Government increase the troops to 2,200. Why not 2,300, why not 2,201, but only 2,200.
Any explanation ? LOL
AAAAA
P.S. I did not start this thread, the Moderator split my comment from another thread about proper administrative procedure to inform wounded soldiers about Danger Pay. Someone is very manipulative saying this is a AAAAA Conspiracy. But can you explain to me the co-incidence of 2,200 troops Canada contributed is exactly one-tenth the American contributed (22,000 troops)
