If you want to play with statistics, perhaps we should start with the population of the US of A compared to that of Canada, and then look at the size of the American Armed Forces as a total compared to the size of the CF.  Perhaps that would be the best place to start looking for answers.

If there was ever a reason for Radio Chatter, this is a prime example. You know, I may have something somewhat off topic, however this is radio chatter after all, so here goes:

I work at a grocery store. Customer comes in , older lady, seems nice enough, maybe a few nuts and bolts knocking around upstairs. Since we had a chicken leg/breast sale, her and everyone else in the city was in the store that day. Me being the model employee asks the charming woman what her plans are for it. She says " I start out with dipping the meat in rat poison, as that will remove any unwanted bacteria" "Don't you think that's dangerous, ma'am?" "No, I've been doing it for years and I'm OK" She also asks me how 'my summertime' was. I claimed it was just fine. She says "I don't think going outside in the summer sunlight is a good idea, as the weather is nice and the government sprays the pesticides that keep the population under control, to keep us happy, I never allowed my children out" And with that, she said have a nice day and she left. I'm no food sanitation expert or mental health professional but I would imagine rat poison mixed with food is not a good idea.

Now as for this particular theory, I'll leave it in more experienced hands.

I have no problems with sending troops to Afghanstan, but sending  2,200 Canadian troops, exactly one tenth of American troops in Afghanstan seems odd.

We are in partnership with United States. We are friends of United States. But should we have to shed blood for our friends  in exactly proportional amount (?).

As today, there were 341 American died in Afghanstan, 40 Canadian died in Afghanstan. (Sept 8, 2006)

So proportionally, we, as Canadian shared a much heavier burden than the American.

We should be proud of our troops to carry a much heavier burden than our southern neighbor with higher death rate and I expect more Canadian troops may die due to road side bombs with ill equipped trucks.

I did not post this thread, nor did I write the AAAAA Conspiracy.

I just responded to a thread about the proper administrative procedure to inform a wounded soldier about the Danger Pay.

The Moderator and others answered my observation of the number of troops as an AAAAA Conspiracy.

I NEVER mentioned any conspiracy. Some of you are immature to shoot the messenger instead I am not for Jack Layton northe NDP. They can only win in the inner city or the rural area in the North.

Toronto needs Progressive Conservative Party to govern to develop the downtown  area instead under the pro-NDP Mayor, the Toronto Lakeshore area sold out to the developers.

Just look at Australia how they developed their cities and understand the Aussies had the Olympics, the state of arts subway system, and better highway system than us (the 401 is the only major highway which can not handle all the traffic during peak hours)

I am more interested in improving the lives of people here in Toronto and Ottawa than people I don't think deserved to care if they made roadside bombs to kill our troops !

P.S. Moderator: I did not start this thread, please delete my name on top of this thread. I merely pointed out the co-incidence of number of troops Canada contributed is exactly one-tenth of the American troops. (2,200: 22,000)

as soon as you went down this path, you invited the response you received. 

As a U.S. Army Officer, I wonder do anyone ask another interesting question.

"Why did our Government, Canadian Government, the Conservative Government of Stephen Harper sent 2,200 soldiers to Afghanistan ?"

The Liberal did start the mission but Stephen Harper and his Government increase the troops to 2,200. Why not 2,300, why not 2,201, but only 2,200.

Any explanation ?  LOL
