The Autonomous ISV....

So Optionally Manned was a desired KPP (key performance parameter) for all of the Next Gen Armored Vehicles: XM-30, M1A3, AMPV and M10 Booker. However it was only a hard requirement on the XM-30.

Now the Booker is gone, XM-30 dropped the requirement, M1A3 definition phase isn’t OS.

I was wondering about starting with the blocky hull form of the M113 analogue. If I wanted to convert it into a fighting platform, or an engineering platform then I am creating a bigger target wrapped around an empty space.

But then...

Earlier I was arguing that logistics were more predictable than combat. So, start with the CQ in the combat arms. Uncrewed packages taking bullets, beans and batteries forwards and casualties back without exposing those storesmen/drivers. Does such a vehicle need a CUAS turret stuck on the top deck? Maybe?

Prompted a second thought...
That hull form also would accommodate a very large magazine feeding an auto-cannon, regardless of target set. And no great loss, beyond the economic and the tactical if a UGV is detonated.
