I'm going to watch it, sounds like it has the makings of a good series. It's getting great coverage here in the Center of the Universe.
Definitely not the CBC our parents used to watch (I think I read something like that somewhere).
The Border...
I'm not sure why, but for some reason it seems to me like its an attempt to draw attention to something that is a potential election issue.
"What are you doing to protect our borders from illegal immigrant terrorists smuggling radioactive nuclear weapons into Canada?"
Or using something that is already known to be a touchy topic when it comes to different views between the parties just to bring ratings... but that part comes with most new T.V shows now. Thats why I like Hogan's, McHale's, and Gilligan's.
After watching it, I must say that I wasn't amused.....
First you have your perennial slamming of CSIS as if the CBC has nobody better to slam given the last year.
Follow that with the attempt at creating another Arar scenario only to have a realisation that one of the students might be involved in something bad which took up the last 30 seconds of the show as opposed to the 30 minutes of CSIS bashing done...
I'll watch again, but I'm hoping for more as the season progresses because the route that this is going is just.... :
