It slices, it dices, it's promoted over music from a spaghetti western, it's a Chinese military-style entrenching-multi-tool! (YouTube, ~9 minutes)

Somebody needs to redo that with a Billy Mays voice-over.

Found it:

Beijing Jinqiu Guoshi E&T CO., LTD.
Multifunctional Shovel

I wonder what it would cost to bring in some with the Army.ca brand?    ;D

I'm in, just the thing for setting up my perimeter defenses...  the human magpies out here are getting bolder all the time.

This thing is great. My favourite function is as a can opener for opening the ever deadly canned ham.

What I want to know is how come it did not break halfway through the show like stuff I buy usually does from China.  Honestly quite the tool, better than ours.

excellent little tool....wish we'd had them...

The magic of film editing.  We'll never know how many shovels, and soldiers, they broke making that infomercial.  Perhaps the bribe to the local battalion commander for "actors' had to be so big they could only afford a bootleg spaghetti western to rip off a soundtrack.    ;D

Doh, they sucked me right in.  Explains why I have a closet full of Ronco appliances,  Shamwows and the like :-[

Oh, so you ordered one, huh?  Wait 'til your credit card bill comes in and you realize the "unit of issue" is a seacan.    ;D

Wonder why they didn't advertise the special Tienanmen Square edition with beheading feature.

Okay: that's brilliant throughout, but can anyone tell me what the clip of two kids trying (and failing) to jump a small waterfall has to do with the shovel? I mean, the Bonanza music has already sold me - I'm just curious.

That's a plot-line scene, of a directorial quality you'll find in an 80s porno.  One character falls in the river, setting up the requirement for his friend to use the shovel as a paddle.

This could turn ugly... now the Chinese have made MacGyver jealous !!

Not even a threat, the McGyver version would use a hollow pipe for handle that would be convertible to a 12-gauge zipgun, and it would have bayonet fittings, both to mount a bayonet on the shovel, or to mount it as a bayonet.  ;D
