Not as many as you'd think. Most Canadians don't give much thought to gun control (or defence or law and order in general, for that matter) until either their government or MSM tells them they should. My playing obtuse aside, I don't see how this can really cause any damage. It's not like the government will see this and decide to ban firearms or destroy sport shooting.
By this stage Canadians have made up their minds about firearms.
Meanwhile Toronto is role-playing being Chicago for a weekend. 12 shot.
Governments break the law all the time, in fact most people break the law on a regular basis. There are so many laws, regulations, polices that no one could hope to know them all and can break them unwittingly or because the law is seen to be stupid.

Appears his "Crime" was not following the PAL verification process for transferring firearms, which makes you a trafficker. And the law won…
Just read that and found it interesting myself. It's almost as if police have known this since around Columbine, but in Canada we keep getting told legal firearms owners, like the gentleman in the story, are the true problem.Seem reasonable. Bully are tough until they start getting hit back.

I'm not saying I'd daily CCW, but given the option, I'd take the training and make sure I could when I wanted to.
Considering the amount of drug addled criminals walking around in public these days it isn’t a bad idea.I used to be pretty solidly against CCW.
But as I watch the continued impotence of our law enforcement organizations and government, my pendulum has swung to where I no longer trust them to respond properly or on time when it comes to my personal safety or my family's safety. I think it's high time that Canadians were given the legislative and legal cover to be able to carry concealed weapons.
I would add a bit to that.I used to be pretty solidly against CCW.

We do have that in the system, Authorization To Carry. It's almost never issued.I used to be pretty solidly against CCW.

I have seen/heard estimates of 651 to 1 in circulation right now for protection of life by an individual (Authorizations to Carry Restricted Firearms and Certain Handguns Regulations) Section 2, but there are hundreds issued under Section 3 for lawful occupation and wilderness carry. My club in co-operation with the local trappers hold an ATC for wilderness carry course each year.We do have that in the system, Authorization To Carry. It's almost never issued.
