The most pathetic anti-war demonstration  ::)

Dang no camera! Heard shouting coming down Robson st, saw a motorcycle cop, and then the protesters, there was 16 ner-do well’s all young kids with bad haircuts, marching with fist in the air. These twits couldn’t even organize a sign regarding their protest, pretty sad state of affairs. They were busy shouting at the top of their lungs and at least one was smart enough to bring a megaphone. One guy in the group looked like he was just there because of his girlfriend. No doubt this will be heralded on some website as a another successful “attack” on the Bush-Harper Industrial complex (cunningly disguised as West Edmonton mall) You see a lot of pathetic demonstrations from our vantage point, but this has to be the lamest I have ever seen, especially as it’s a nice day out. It seems the loonies of the Wet Coast are back in season!!  ;D  ;D
 
Another one? Meh, good think Jack wasn't there, they would have had to have better signs and junk  :D
 
Once the rainy season ends out here they come out in droves.  ::)
 
I hate these things. For real though, I was walking on York street when a bunch of young street people (the ones with spiky green mohawks and ripped, tight , black jeans) were hollering out : Harper is a War monger! And all of this other crap. It annoys the crap out of me.
 
War monger, eh? I don't remember many (if any) protests after the Liberal deployed the CF in A-stan after 9/11.

So you're expecting two or three days of protests before the monsoons return?  ;D
 
We get them out here in front of the CFRC all the time (once a month or so) ... usually there's only about 10 - 20 people who pace around in a little circle ... the CBC shows-up, realizes that nothing is going to happen and then after an hour or two everyone goes home.

Perhaps they thought that signs are the tools of war mongering capitalist imperialism.
 
Back in 83 my Troupe was leaving CFB Lahr for a run to CFB Baden, we were told of a protest at the gate and to be aware (IE don't get involved under penalty of death or duty) All it was, was 4 washed up hippie wannabes in lawn chairs sitting at the gate. :tsktsk:  So much for my first big anti war protest.

Actually, that was a bunch of us on shore leave....
 
I saw a very strange one about a month ago.  It was an anti-war/pro-Marijuanna rally.  There were about 15 - 20 people marching down the street at 10 PM!  It was so bizarre.  There wasn't anyone on the street so they were getting no attention.  Not even from the passing cars.
 
I can't see the connection between anti-war and mary-jane....Unless they figure soldiers should smoke dope while fighting.....But then war would still go on, it's just that soldiers would say stuff like "Wow man, that was soooooo messed up! Did you see that? Wow man, did you see that? Whoa....Like hey man, they're shooting at us again...Like whoa....Hey, I'm hungry *bang, bang, bang*, you got any chips left?"....

I don't make the connection.....I think combining war and dope is a bad idea. I wonder how the NDP feels about combining the 2. I think it might just make war a little slower....few more accidents, but it'll still happen....Humans are human by the way...Besides, look at the Taliban.....They smoke alot of dope and they're still very angry people.....Dope + Taliban = ok. Advantage Canada.

Sorry, I could not resist. Pathetic anti-war protesters....How about GET A JOB!!!!.....Although I DID go to one in highschool just to get out of class....It was a school sanctioned event though....Gulf War 1!!! Maybe we should move this to Radio Chatter.....
