Just my own thought‘s about improving the Militia,Air Reserve and Navy Reserve.

When you sign up,you sign for 3yrs.
If in with in those 3yrs you have not lived up to your contract you end up in the Reg. Force, full time as in the State‘s.

On another line we should do like the Brit.‘s.
Every year if you pass your Training in regard‘s to your Trade you get a BONUS if you fail you don‘t get it!

Every 5yrs as Militia in the U.K. is you reup you get $2,000+ Bonus!(our $‘s)

But before this can happen our Militia must be trained as our Reguler Force as happen‘s in the U.K. and the State‘s.

We must bring our Militia up to Reg. Standerd‘s like the rest of the World!

We are the only Country in the world who realy take‘s a "CITEZEN SOLDIER‘S" with limeted training and throw them from a civie life into full blown War.

Re: Yugo,UNPROFOR,SFOR!!

Yes many have proven them selve‘s but it hurt‘s with out the full course‘s and some are suffering, one friend of mine is still suffering.

We need to be treated as equal‘s and have the same course‘s so there is less pain because we Militia suffer more than the Reg.Force when we come home :salute:

Just a thought from an Old Fart

I will add - the Army has to get with it fast - they could have a lot of info on the web to accelerate training and skill qualifications - you don`t need to be sitting in a stuffy class for all (some) but not all of the information presentation phase.

Also - the only way the Oberkommado Des Heers can know what has been completed as far as attendance is full time pay for reserves. To have two pay systems breeds ignorance on both sides of the reg-reserve system.

All in all - maybe its time that ARMY.CA made up a simple letter we could all send to our MPs and give to our friends to send to our MPs to tell the political side that the systems isn‘t broken - its having a permanent nap on the bottom of the swimming pool. Time to fix.

logau, why don‘t you concoct a very good petion, and I for one will print it out and go to my local Legion‘s and Bar‘s and sign every one up.

As I do have not have the tallent of the written English Language but I do have the verbel tallent. ;)

As all know I are a crappy speller

Here‘s a thought. Make every 3rd battalion a reserve in each Brigade, with their own Lcol on down commanding them. A sort of a class B call up.
We can go back to the early 50‘s. When they had for an example (1st Rifle Battalion), that would draw from from various Rifle units.

make people?
Crazy talk my friend.

The reserves can‘t even get people to show up for training nights, how are you going to make them show up on time every time?
people in canada dont like HAVING to do anything, if you put int hat clause that they may be sent to the regs no one would ever sign up.

I wish your idea would work im all for it but i dont think it would.
What WOULD be nice is to be able to kick people out of the reserves if they dont show up (and i dont mean putting them on nes for a year then give them a slap ont he hand when they come back) Kick the slobs out and make room for people who really want to be there.

Now that would make me sleep with more ease.

If there was a little employment protection like the US maybe the Moe might get and retain a few more motivated people and less of the quantity before quality I see coming through the door lately. I totally agree with ghost, time to take out the trash.
