Heck, just ask Pete Hegseth on his Signal accountYou might be surprised.
Frankly I don't see us having much choice, we are only months into a administration that is not going to be restrained till their midterm elections. We commit to the 16 we have contracted for, promise to get a unspecified number of more F-35's and then lease a few Griffins to evaluate. It's not like we will have all the infrastructure anyways to handle all of the proposed F-35's or the people to maintain them. This approach gives us some leverage in this ongoing tariff war.I can't believe there's CAF members that support this absolute travesty of a policy to cancel the F-35 purchase. We're our own worst enemy on procurement.
Which is why we are now gonna have a Defense Procurement Department.![]()
We have a choice. F35 is for NORAD predominantly, we need it and in significant numbers. Use the Gripen talks to leverage better IRB out of Lockheed Martin then buy what we said we're going to buy. If we want to diversify, grab Rafale or Gripens AS WELL as a bridge to Gen 6 aircraft.Frankly I don't see us having much choice, we are only months into a administration that is not going to be restrained till their midterm elections. Yes because all those strategic corporals and genius captains can’t be wrongI can't believe there's CAF members that support this absolute travesty of a policy to cancel the F-35 purchase. We're our own worst enemy on procurement.
I'm just waiting for the Avro Arrow 2 idiots to start pipeing up again.Yes because all those strategic corporals and genius captains can’t be wrong
I have nothing against corporals or captains. The stooopid ones I have issues with .
Oh I bet some have.I'm just waiting for the Avro Arrow 2 idiots to start pipeing up again.
Because both of those aircraft are dead in a modern battlefield.Instead of the Gripen why not get some Apaches or A10s ?
Us the F35 for fighter work and finally get our people on the ground some air support.

I do not think we should be buying a single Gripen.Frankly I don't see us having much choice, we are only months into a administration that is not going to be restrained till their midterm elections. People on the ground…..in Latvia?
Tell me again why the the US are going to give Sweden permission to export the US tech in Grippens to Canada so that we can avoid buying F35s to get back at the Americans? We have a choice. In fact, I bet if you told Trump we'd be willing to buy up to 150 F35 in exchange for dropping all tariffs, he'd play ball. Give him the out he wants and stop cutting our nose off to spite our face.
