From the short read of things that I had, I wonder if the old barrel of hydraulic fluid was supposed to have been disposed of, but wasn't because it was full of old oil. Then they somehow re-used the old oil by accident and put it in a plane again after it being outside over the winter?

I would hope that's not it, but...how else do you get hydraulic oil that's 30% water with considerable particulate in it?

Probably asking if they’ll still deliver them to Canada without security clearances completed on personnel and all the infrastructure built. “Pretty please we promise to have all our personnel cleared, security forces in place and secure hangars built*.”

At this rate we’ll be sending CAF pilots to fly CF-335s out of US airbases. Indefinitely.

When summer officially ends on 22 September and this current government stated that the F35 review would be completed by then.

This may have occurred already and the results have not been publicly announced or its just about to wrap up and the outcome will break shortly, either way it will be interested to read what the final decision is.

With the current fragile state of Canada-US relations, I doubt that anything substantive will happen to the F35 deal. I expect it to go ahead as planned, if at most stretching out purchase agreements, to have costs hit the budget on different years as other big projects hit the books.

My thoughts are well. I get the feeling that they are hoping to roll its announcement into some sort of trade deal/compromise.

I was told the Gripen is cold-weather optimized. Maybe they’ve spray-foamed the cockpit and avionic areas.

We'll see. I'll have to wait though. By the 22nd I'll be deep in the northern bush, with no electronic signals, till I come out 3 weeks later. It is bliss.

If we sign a contract with SK for subs and need to transfers some billions 2026 would be a doable year, maybe 2027. But if say we need to put down billions for subs in 2028, they might defer the purchase of the 18 fighters by a year, so the contract completes in 2032 instead of 2031.

Well, if a 50 basis point cut occurs on Wednesday, our debt funding costs should be moving downwards as well. Every bit will help over the long run.
A falling CAD makes our products cheaper to export and helps to stem our imports.
