That's a really interesting way to do it; I've been using strava a bit while kayaking and something else while hiking, and the data from it on time/pace is useful. And some days where I feel kind of like garbage but go do it anyway I can put a note in there to remind myself that it was one of those days, which is handy. But seeing that progression is a nice motivator, especially when it's not some kind of group PT, or something you can clearly tie to weight increases or something.
