Time? From Call to BMQ?

Hello,

I have been merit listed a couple months ago and now as a recruiting center advisor has told me that i have a good chance of getting the call in the next 3 weeks, I was wondering how much time do you get from the call to actually starting bmq, is it like 1 month time? Thx

What I read on another thread is that there's not BMQ date until April, when the new fiscal year begins..  Mine is on Feb 1st..  there might be some spot left a little bit after, but I would say, don't count on that...

Ok, cause i was wondering if there is a certain minimum time they give you from the day they call you to the day your in, cause i am thinking of going to europe and don't want to end up getting the call when i am in europe, and  them telling me that bmq starts in a week.

I've been told they try to give you at least 2 weeks notice..  I got 1 month notice (got the call Jan 4th, BMQ starts Feb 1st)..  That leaves some time to resign from my current job and pack all my things...

I'm sure if you tell them you're in Europe, they will understand and try to put you on another BMQ..  Correct me if I'm wrong guys...

Call to BMQ is usually dependant on when a course is running. I know our unit makes a practice of as soon as your sworn in, you go get a uniform and start parading on Company Training nights (usually Thursdays).

BMQ Candidate members are not allowed to parade in the field due to liability issues, however coy training is perfectly acceptable.

If you're merit listed, and still want to join up, I wouldn't go to Europe, because the call could come at anytime. Call your recruiting center and ask when the next selection board sits, and if there is any positions left open for your trade you chose. Some trades may still have positions available, and they will fill them up before April when the new fiscal year begins.

Yeah I got 2 numbers and they are both pretty useless.

Oh they didn't pick you well call us back in 3 weeks

I got my call yesterday, Sworn in on the 27th, BMQ on Feb.8th.
