Highly recommend checking out today‘s Grope - Christie Blatchford wrote a piece on the front page about the underfunding of the PRes, how units are being starved of funds for training and ammunition allotments have been cut so severely that units have a difficult time functioning.

Apparently, she went to a Robbie Burns dinner at the A&SH of C‘s Officers‘ Mess and heard all about it from the CO and DCO and was inspired to write a piece. It‘s not bad, worth a look.

Here is the piece:

This is nothing new to us old timers.
It just got a little worst.

Nothing new for the regular force as well. We have been in reconstitution (3VP) since Sep 02, just enough to shoot the annaul PWT with no retests. Personally have not shot PWT since before Afghanistan and have been tasked away from home 210 days last year. It is becoming the norm within the CF unless your are operationally tasked or loaned to another agency.

Belated welcome home Grunt.

We‘re in the same boat in the RCD. Not enough money to actually do PWT2 either. We‘re rotating home in March and more than likely gearing up within 120 days for Afgan(since the anouncement by your CO and the Brigade comd of 1 CMBG)

Oh well...what can a tanker do?

Hydrolics on...Stab on..

Regards

I can go back to late 70‘s when the whole Force‘s had to limet the milage and fuel!!
Even no Exsplosive‘s for training!

Here in the West we no longer have the Blair Shoot.
It was a inter Unit Shooting Compition, from 9m.m up to the rifle,it ended age‘s ago.

in the 1960 s all we had for some vehicles was a chalk mark on the parade square and that was 1BNPPCLI at workpoint in Esquimalt, not cadets or reserves!

Awaiting a flight date. Probably next week/weekend. The wife is pissed I‘ll miss Valentines Day. So what is the weather like?

Warming up to a degree. SSM Slack went for a 21 k run today so it must have been good enough.

Night are cold...especially with the fog off the Sava river. It goes right through you.

Oh, don‘t forget the stench...the wonderful stench! :D

regards
