Hello everyone!
Keeping it short: I'm working on my degree right now and then I'm planning to join a local infantry reserve unit and work on becoming an officer.
Questions:
1. What courses will I have to go through to become 2nd Lieutenant?
2. Are officers eligible for the same courses as NCM's? (I'd like to go through Mountain Warfare, Basic Para & Basic Recce - all of which are available to NCM's in the unit)
Thanks in advance!

Hopefully my acronyms are up to date as they've changed a little since I went through, but here is the info to the best of my knowledge.
1- Basic Military Qualification (BMQ), you do this with other untrained privates and your rank is Officer Cadet (OCdt) while doing it.
2- Basic Military Officer Qualification (BMOQ), intro to small party tasks and other leadership trg
3- Basic Military Officer Qualification Land (BMOQ-L), this is the old Common Army Phase (CAP) course which teaches you section level tactics and weapons and has more leadership piled into it
At that point you can be promoted with 2Lt with your CO's recommendation.  To hit Lt you need to do Infantry Officer Developmental Period 1.1 (IODP 1.1) which teaches you all of the Platoon level tactics and weapons to get to fully qualified.

As for the other courses you are asking it is possible to get those qualifications, but especially for Basic Para it is a long shot.  I only say that because they have only ran a PRes Basic Para for the last 2 years with approximately 40 positions per year and it is highly competitive to get on it.  Anything is possible though and right time, right place with a chain of command that supports you can make it possible.
