Right before summer leave it came down that we won't be getting training plates until somewhat later in the game to train with for 1-10 and that they were open to ideas to help simulate them. I heard things like sand bags in a small pack (no good) and decided I would try to come up with something.
I made some cardboard templates then found some 1/4 plate steel to which I attached 5/8 plywood. Somewhat late in the project it dawned on me that the front plate has a curve to it and sure enough, my front plate is kind of awkward but I'm probably not gonna come up with a mark II version anytime soon. That issue aside, I think the weight is sorta close, and they seem to do a decent job of simulateing plates. Any thoughts?
Decided to throw a coat of paint on just to stop rusting from sweat
