When the State Department secured the release of 10 Americans and permanent legal residents from a Venezuela prison last week, Secretary of State Marco Rubio hailed the action as part of an effort to safeguard the well-being of Americans unjustly held abroad.
But one of the men released from the prison, an American-Venezuelan dual national named Dahud Hanid Ortiz, had been convicted in Venezuela for the murder of three people in Spain in 2016, according to an official at the prosecutor’s office in Madrid and Venezuelan court records reviewed by The New York Times.
The official asked not to be identified speaking publicly about the case.
Mr. Hanid Ortiz, 54, had served 19 years in the in United States Army, according to military documents, and had been awarded a Purple Heart for injuries received in Iraq. He had multiple deployments and suffered physical and mental injuries as a result of his service, according to the Army. He was later dismissed from the military after pleading guilty to fraud and larceny.

Trump’s net approval hits lowest point of second term in DDHQ average
President Trump’s net approval rating reached its lowest point yet of his second term in office in the Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ) polling average.
Trump’s net approval rating reached 9.2 points underwater Monday, the lowest it’s been since DDHQ started tracking his approval numbers during his second term. It found an average of 53.4 percent of respondents disapproved of his job performance, the highest number recorded since he returned to the White House in January. His net approval slightly improved Tuesday, but his approval rating fell to its second-lowest level of his term at 44 percent.
The declines are part of a broader rough week of polling for Trump, who has seen some weakening on multiple questions evaluating his standing with the public.
A drop in the percentage of independents who approve of his job performance could be one explanation for the change, as it dropped almost 3 points over the past week.
His net favorability rating also dropped by a larger margin of 2 points over the past week, with 52.6 percent viewing him unfavorably and 44.9 percent viewing him favorably as of Tuesday. The last time his unfavorable percentage was at this level was early May.
Is that the interview video that I saw this morning?Wait until Anonymous drops the Epstein-Trump video set…
While parking Loadsa tanks on the border for “exercises” …It is the sort of thing Russia does to its neighbours.
Already ‘Whack-a-Mole’d….Is that the interview video that I saw this morning?
Is that the interview video that I saw this morning?
yes, that one.
That statement encapsulates the end-state of those who promulgate AI deep fakes - which is to cause the great unwashed (us) to question the veracity of everything. In these times of AI deep fakes; is this real?
You're right. But goddamn we're getting swamped by this crap (the deep fake question)That statement encapsulates the end-state of those who promulgate AI deep fakes - which is to cause the great unwashed (us) to question the veracity of everything.
Quite worrying.
Before deep fake, I'd see a LOT of folks (still see a few) blaming PhotoShop for pix of JE & DJT together. Lack of faith is always there among some, now the tools are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more sophisticated. That statement encapsulates the end-state of those who promulgate AI deep fakes - which is to cause the great unwashed (us) to question the veracity of everything.
Tracking nonsense from Gabbard is a full time job that nobody here has time for. If a judge is willing to sign a warrant or someone gets indicted, then it merits paying attention to. Until and unless that happens, it’s likely safe to expect it’s all BS being thrown up at a convenient time for the administration, to try to disrupt an uncomfortable news cycle. It is interesting that no person here is tracking or mentioning the DNI release of evidence Obama admin fabricated the entire Russia collusion hoax and the referral to DOJ. Brennan, Comey, Clapper, et al might be in serious trouble for these seditious acts. Obama will likely skate free with immunity.
But you’re all hypothesizing about Trump being connected to Epstein in some way that is scandalous as if that wouldn’t have already been dragged out into the light these last 10 years.
