US restaurant rely on tipping culture to pay their employees instead of them. Fun fact tipping culture actually originates from post slavery as a way not to pay black employee's because they worked for "tips" which was still a wage. Tipping in general I think needs to die, its an excuse not to pay people proper wages, and in my time as a chef I told many perspective employers to pound sand when they said part of my wage was tips (example offered $17/h but 3/h was from trips and not guaranteed), rules around tipping are even more lax in the US, and owners and managers taking the tips for them selves is common practice.

Don’t forget depending on your jurisdiction not all the tips (sometimes none of the tip) have to go to the employee. There’s tip outs, restaurants taking the full cut, etc.

It is also great for avoiding taxes.

Depending on what line of logic excuse for their little reno of the White House, they are hanging their hat on, they either don't need no stinkin' permit or they will get one 'when it is time'.

Pentagon boss Pete Hegseth faced yet another setback in his mission to rebrand the US military as a photogenic 'warrior' class following a lawsuit from school children.

The Defense Department was hit with the legal action after Hegseth ordered military schools to remove hundreds of books about race and sex due to their allegedly 'woke' content.

Some of the banned books include Maya Angelou's classic novel I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and State of Emergency with a foreword by Cardi B.

In a shock move, a federal judge said Hegseth's order violated First Amendment rights following a lawsuit brought on behalf of pre-K to 11th grade students.

The so-called Department of War must restock military libraries with the 'banned' books, including titles such as White Fragility and Was the Cat in the Hat Black?

The move comes as Hegseth's management of the most powerful military in history was described as 'soul-sucking' and the Defense chief was branded an 'empty suit running this department into the ground.'

The former Fox News host launched a 'War on Woke' when he took over the department, and has since implemented major changes to instill a 'warrior ethos.'

The administration rebranded the Department of Defense to the 'Department of War.' He also vowed to restore 'scary, tough, disciplined' fitness regiments because he was 'tired of seeing fat troops.'

'We became the woke department. But not anymore,' Hegseth recently told top generals as he boasted about eliminating DEI from the military.

I wish I could go back in time and smack my 16 year old self and tell them "learn to dance" It vastly increases your chances of getting laid and meeting the right girl, because funny enough there are a lot of good eligible females that want a man who can dance. Teach the young generation, Latin dance first, then the waltz, foxtrot, tango etc.

I was forced to learn the Ländler as a Subaltern as our Adjt offered up Guards Officers for the German Benevolent Society Debutantes' Ball. Twice a week for 6 weeks. I can still waltz to this day.
