It’s racists vs tech bros over on Twitter the past couple days and I’m not gonna lie, it’s funny. Since tech-right literally owns the platform and is supported by a ton of the paid members, the alt-right’s not having a great time in this particular chapter of the culture wars.

The r/Leopardsatemyface subreddit has been on fire since…well, 06 Nov, but the last 24 hours have been even more wild.

Are ”contemptible losers” better or worse than “deplorables”?

Asking for a friend.

Regardless, it seems Hilary was the one who opened that particular Pandora's Box, which didn't do her any favours ...

Hillary Clinton’s basket of deplorables, explained

The multifaceted controversy touches on two of the more enduring taboos in American politics — frank discussion of racism and disparaging the electorate. And it highlights the contrasting campaign strategies of the Trump and Clinton camps. It started because the Trump camp correctly sensed Clinton had made a mistake.

H1B Lip-Sync Scandal Exposed! Indian Firm Behind

A new type of fraud has emerged in the H1B visa job market that is quite surprising. Some candidates seeking highly skilled tech positions in the U.S. are reportedly lip-syncing during video interviews. (watch the video below) In this scenario, another person off-camera provides the answers while the candidate pretends to speak. This tactic allows them to seem qualified for roles they may not actually be able to perform.

That's an awful lotta words for "foreigner stealing good high-paying American jobs" right there ;)

As Stratford Billy once wrote, “How sharper than a serpent's tooth it is to have a thankless child.”

That was a couple days ago and was a huge catalyst in kicking this whole thing off. Needless to say a lot of Twitter racists were not fans of someone with brown skin and a name like Vivek saying that. The irrational replies have largely drowned out the rational ones.
Yes, I find it quite funny. The Donald has quietly sided with Elon and Vivek though.

I think what Vivek said is remarkably accurate and it doesn't only apply to STEM. I see it in my own industry. I'm currently advertising a position and have a signing bonus & relocation assistance attached to the offer. We pay for everything and even pay a person during their training. The only ones who want the job are South East Asians. I have a bunch who work for me now and they tell their buddies how good of a job it is, who then also apply to try and work here.

I don't know why homegrown kids don't want to work these jobs? A few of my wife's friends boyfriends/partners/spouses are always lamenting how they can't find work, don't make enough money, etc.

I've offered to help them get a start in this business but none of them have taken me up on the offer.

My uncle is a general contractor who owns a decent sized construction business. He can't get anyone to work for him under the age of 50 and all of his carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc are all around 5 or 6 years away from retirement.
