I'm holding out for the pics of him: 1) Parting the Red Sea, 2) Walking on water, and finally, 3) Announcing that the US has found the Holy Grail.
I think John Cleese may have something to say about that!!I'm holding out for the pics of him: 1) Parting the Red Sea, 2) Walking on water, and finally, 3) Announcing that the US has found the Holy Grail.
Wrong on all three counts.
That’s a completely normal, rational, and coherent thing for the head of state of a nuclear power to post. I see no issue here. This is an odd rant.

I'd call it unhinged. Reading through that is worrying for a number of reasons. This is an odd rant.

After months undermining Ukraine, Trump Admin Tries to Win Back Europe’s Canceled Arms Deals
In a new op-ed published in USA Today, Secretary of State Marco Rubio praises the Trump administration’s NATO strategy as a “historic” success, touting a sweeping agreement under which alliance members will raise defense spending to 5% of GDP. But behind the celebratory tone lies a clear...kyivinsider.com
Good luck, that's a whole lot of damage that I doubt is going to be fixable until long after the Trump admin is gone.
You know you’ve started past the tipping point when South Korea cancels its upcoming Apache attack helicopter contract and looking at domestic and European-sourced manned and unmanned solutions.

Seoul Scraps Purchase of Additional AH-64E Apache Attack Helicopters
South Korea will shift towards cheaper attack drones to cover the same tank busting roles, consistent with evolving trends in modern warfare. South Koreatheaviationist.com
I was in Belgium recently and the talk around NATO is universally (less the USA) about building the Alliance’s Euro-based capability. Frankly, I’d be surprised if more than a quarter of the future NAtO investment goes to America.

NATO summit 2025: Time to build a proper European pillar?
Neither an ‘EU-plus’ nor a ‘NATO-minus’ could fill all the gaps that would be left in European security if the US radically reduced its commitment to NATO.www.cer.eu
America’s hegemony in Europe is dead. Americans just don’t know it yet.
Jeebus. And people said Biden was senile…if the Yanks had a half functioning government, cabinet would 25th Amendment-ed his ass already. This is an odd rant.

This line right here:
Rubio may be right that NATO is spending more than ever. But his op-ed reveals something else: America is asking for trust again — after having spent the better part of a year proving it can’t be counted on.
This administration is a combination of a messy smash and grab, and asset stripping of a recent acquisition (keys to the American economy) before dumping it and moving on (or perhaps offshore).Yup.
Yup.
Anecdotally (IMO), top of the “we don’t trust you (USA) anymore” list in NATO is Poland. Many Poles I spoke with think 5 (US) Corps should just go back home. Poland has solid protection deals recently out in place with France and Germany and the U.S. is untrustworthy. Other NATO nations complain that the only NATO member ever to ask for Chapter 5 support is the one nation now telling the rest of NATO that it will pick and choose when Chapter 5 support is granted to any other member other than the U.S.
America is seriously under appreciating how badly it is destroying its political and security capital.
Is this visible to reasonably senior US military leadership?Yup.

I honestly don’t know other than one U.S. field-grade officer I spoke with who said he “hopes so” [US GOFOs tracking]. Others are closer to the side of things back Stateside. Is this visible to reasonably senior US military leadership?
Trump has successfully killed the American empires global reach. Looks a lot more like late Austria-Hungary than 1900 Britain. Very hard to bring that back once it has been lost.Yup.
