Trump administration 2024-2028

When I read this, detailed, breakdown on the EU/US ‘agreement’, I come away with the feeling that it’s either a total sham, PR move by the WH or, if the WH believes in it that the differences in interpretation by both sides means it’s going to collapse.

That tracks, and doesn't really surprise.

For example the Japan deal he announced isn't even written down and just a verbal agreement to guidelines.

Whole lot of smoke and mirrors to make things look like wins coming out of the WH.

Good... luck? Pete.

lol, he’s realized that running the Pentagon is ALOT of work and you actually have tangible deliverables, lol.
He wants a much cushier job as a US elected official who does pretty much nothing (in my humble opinion) and is not really accountable to anyone.

Still a big leap from TV mouthbox to governing a state…

If anyone is still wondering why there still aren't any actual inked deals yet, behold the last 24 hours.

He keeps making big announcements about tentative agreements to frameworks, overall intentions on principle, and pretending they’re actually signed deals when they aren’t. Not sure why anyone takes anything he’s saying about trade at face value.

Any country signing a trade agreement with him before there’s a final court determination in the legality of his ‘emergency’ tariffs is jumping the gun.

Assuming that a "Signed deal" will carry any weight with his decision making in 2 years.

And those that do sign deals may find that they will be stuck with those deals for some time.

Better to take no deal than a bad deal we will never be able to get out of.

Especially if you make a deal with a Westminster style parliamentary democracy.
I mean, I don't know a Westminster style government that signed a deal one day, and then have the very same prime minister renege while denigrating the intelligence of the person who crafted it.

Fair. But I do know of deals made with one parliament overturned by the next... as is their sovereign right.

I also know of deals made by American Presidents never ratified by their "parliaments".

Woodrow Wilson comes immediately to mind.
