No, I’m talking other unilateral executive options. There are still enough free market Republicans in congress that I don’t think he could get wide-ranging tariff legislation through.

Not so sure that will happen.
Many many Republicans live in areas hurting from loss of Canadian trade and tourism. It’s NOT a slam dunk for Trump if he goes this route. mid term elections are on the horizon.

I would not be surprised if someone was told to go find some "sympathetic voices". Then they blunder around asking obvious questions in a small community. At best they found someone with a grudge/grievance who they connected with and made some promise. Said local goes to the bar , gets drunk and says "I'll show you when we take over" or something stupid like that.
