It seems every time this administration is called to account, the concept of Trump Derangement Syndrome is invoked. What seems to be overlooked is the mirror Trump Adoration Syndrome by many of his supporters. While the average supporter might be excused for being caught up in the frenzy, like teenage girls at a Beatles concert (I'm clearly dating myself), actual lawmakers, those folks who are supposed to know better, so far have tabled legislation to:
- get his likeness added to Mount Rushmore
- get his image on currency
- naming an airport after him
- renaming the DC subway system

From the $100 bill to Mt. Rushmore: How Republicans want to honour Trump - National | Globalnews.ca
Trump is six months into his second term, but some Republicans are ready to elevate him into the pantheon of American greats.globalnews.ca
This is in addition to wanting him awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
This is a level of idolification that would make Dear Leader blush.
I know good leadership when I see it, and this ain't it.
Ah, you're just serving as the counterpoint. Got it.I don't agree with everything Trump says or does, nor PP for that matter. But with respect to Trump somebody has to try and balance things out around here with all the caterwauling that goes on over every single thing ("He overfed the coi fish!") You think we'd have learned that first reporting, political opinion pieces and legal analysis have been inaccurate or wrong or substantially muted (to say the least) by now - history has shown this. If only there were an equal level of criticism for similar egregious acts by other administrations when they had the hot seat but instead we saw rationalizing, hand waving or applauding.
I honestly don't know how readily accessible those records are up here. Police have a lot of databases at their mobile fingertips now but, other than the CBSA or RCMP doing some manner of federal enforcement, citizenship is largely irrelevant to most in law enforcement unless it ends up in a warrant which would then be entered into the national police database.Curious to know quickly something like the Registrar of Births in Ontario can be accessed by an organization like the RCMP or OPP when looking to confirm if someone was or was not born in Ontario.
If said person supplies their legal name, date of birth, city/town of birth in Ontario, parents name, including Mother's maiden name, if they could confirm this within an hour or two.
Ya, I don't know about the US rules for carrying proof of legal residency for non-citizens, let alone having to produce it on demand of law enforcement. Sure sounds like a 'papers please' type of society they want.I’m aware of birth certificates, passports and I think there are “naturalized citizen” cards. Might be other methods I’m not aware of.
But if you’re a citizen born here, you’re probably not carrying those things around with you.
Anyone intrigued that both Trump and his current wife chose to wear the colour purple when meeting with the King at Windsor Castle?
The color purple is associated with death due to its historical use in mourning,
