Yes, when the communicability and severity and even the existence of a pandemic threat are in doubt, we should err in favour of restrictive precautions and only pull back later, if at all (your morally superior choice). It wasn't too far in that it was obvious it was not the second coming of Black Plague, though, and at that point the recommendations of other experts should have been given weight.

The political left discredited themselves early on by playing their identity politics game against what they claimed were racist nativist policies (and then later became lockdown tyrants), and later by consenting to (and in some case promoting) the BLM protests. It was politics all the way down with them.

The massive number of people with ‘long Covid’ is fueling a ton of research into multi-system post-viral syndromes. I’ve got a family member who has a rough time with ME/CFS after an infection, and the long Covid research is showing a fair bit of overlap. I’m not sure that in the fullness of time there will even be a distinction there.

You would get a similar response from the makers of other brands, of most drugs. The makers of Tylenol in particular have good reason. Hence the "If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use." on the back of every bottle of Tylenol and other OTC drugs.

The telepromter being under staff control I buy, but the escalator is totally on the UN maintenance staff. As for cows, the Progressives have been very much after the cattle industry and want to shut it down for "Climate change reasons".

The UN has a dismal track record in stopping wars, at best they get a "Frozen conflict" where the conditions for the conflict still exists, but people live in a situation that never improves or resolves. And London is a mess and the UK government polices are causing a major revolt.

Trump is an idiot, so he fits into the UN fine, since they see no problem with KSA, Iran and North Korea sitting on the Human Rights Commission.
