Trump administration 2024-2028

There will be a shit ton of new oil coming on stream in 3-5ish years if the US installs someone favourable to them. All at a very low cost.
Is it in the interest of the US to see a bunch of low cost oil hitting the market? Won't that drive down prices and hurt domestic US producers?

Its all about keeping gas at or below 3$/gallon.

During my 1 day 'down and back' on Saturday to bring my daughter home from Uni in the US for their Thanksgiving, I saw gas at a low of 2.71$/gallon to a high of 3.21$/gallon.

And another example of the growing use of lawfare south of the border...

Pentagon threatens to recall Sen. Mark Kelly to military service for court martial in wake of illegal orders video

The Pentagon said Monday that it is investigating Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly, a retired US Navy captain, in light of “serious allegations of misconduct” the department has received against him, and could even recall him to active duty to face a court martial or administrative punishment.

The investigation comes as President Donald Trump has been pushing relentlessly for consequences for Kelly and other Democratic lawmakers over a video they made reminding servicemembers of their duty to disobey illegal orders, calling their actions “seditious” and “treason.”

Because Kelly was a senior officer who retired from the Navy, he is required to remain available for recall to the military by law.

Yes, and yes. It's in the interests of "the US", but not the producers. This is true of anything that drives down prices: good for everyone who consumes the product, difficult for those who produce it.

Probably for the best, given the mess she made of the grand jury. Just embarrassing, and can't believe she hasn't been disbarred (or at least been restricted to not practicing criminal law and sticking to real estate).

They could become 'domestic' producers with the right machinations. Worked for Dole in Hawaii.
