Trump administration 2024-2028

"11 of the most popular destinations" is a long way from "kill off foreign tourism".

Common sense should inform a person that the overwhelming amount of foreign tourism is to cities or certain areas. Theme parks. Hubs of entertainment. "11 national parks" is a drop in a very large bucket.
A large number of people hit the Grand Canyon as part of their Las Vegas experience. It will be just another reason to not visit Las Vegas as a foreigner.
The most recent numbers I could find were, over 14.6 million foreigners visited US National Parks. Fair to say that a large number will say, ‘f8ck it’, I’m not willing to pay another 100$ USD a person to visit XYZ for 3hrs.
I don’t view 14.6 million as a ‘drop in a large bucket.’

Oh hey there! Glad you're back. I do quite enjoy conspiratorial posts, in either direction.
We’ll know about this one in 50 years, or after the JFK dossier is released, whichever occurs first. 👍🏼

Awkward...

25 Investigates: Woman linked to White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt arrested by ICE in Mass.

ICE has arrested the mother of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s nephew in Massachusetts, 25 Investigates has learned.

Bruna Ferreira, who has a child with Karoline Leavitt’s brother, Michael Leavitt, was arrested by ICE agents in the Boston area, her attorney, Todd Pomerleau, told 25 Investigates.

Pomerleau told 25 Investigates that Ferreira is no longer together with Michael Leavitt, but that she is still very involved in the 11-year-old boy’s life.

Sound less awkward than saying “ex-common law sister-in-law” 😆

According to the US NPS statistics, about 318.3 million people visited their sites in 2018 (no public data on country of origin). The US Travel Association estimates that about 14.6 million of those were foreign nationals, so about 4.5%. Not huge, and I could find any estimate of the total financial impact of those foreign tourists.

User fees are, theoretically at least, intended to at least partially recoup the cost of operating public spaces. They aren't profit centres. Adding $10 or $20 to non-resident fees would not likely be a disincentive. A hundred dollars strikes me as a xenophobic middle finger from his Project 25 crowd to them damned ferriners. I'm surprised they haven't issued a complete non-business travel ban on every country (well, except Russia).

Welp, President Trump fully embraced “drunk uncle at dinner” in his midnight Thanksgiving post.

Leader of the free world, ladies and gentlemen:

Please take a minute and read the entire post.
Absolutely mindboggling that this individual has access to nuclear weapons.
And people here are asking why Carney has been in no rush to re-engage with Trump on the trade file? Imagine Carney goes down to DC next Friday, meets with Trump and Trump is off his meds or whatever and starts to light into Carney, live on US/Canadian news?

Time magazine is saying the following on this rant:

“This is one of the most important messages ever released by President Trump,” the White House’s Rapid Response account on X said of Trump’s Truth Social message, which also included calling Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz “seriously retarded” and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D, Minn.) “the worst ‘Congresswoman/woman’ in our Country” as Trump complained about Somalian refugees in their state and blamed refugees more broadly as the “leading cause of social dysfunction in America.”
