Trump administration 2024-2028

Looks like they might be going forward with the new tariffs on South Korea. The US is showing that there is little point in making trade deals with them, with their current administration. What is agreed to one week can easily be invalidated the next.

All those HBM chips being exported by SK (who has a near monopoly of production) to feed the AI bubble in the US are about to get significantly more expensive.

Trump says U.S. and India reached trade deal, will lower tariffs immediately

Prime Minister Narendra Modi committed to “stop buying Russian Oil, and to buy much more from the United States and, potentially, Venezuela,” Trump said on Truth Social.

"we agreed to a Trade Deal between the United States and India, whereby the United States will charge a reduced Reciprocal Tariff, lowering it from 25% to 18%."

This runs counter to our hopes of sending them our oil in the future. Either way, this should NOT prevent us from moving forward on our new oil/gas pipelines to the coasts.

I feel like I read this with the exact same promise to stop buying Russian oil months ago, and they still continued to anyways. The tariff on them dropping 6 points also tells me even the US doesn't really believe them either.

Why would anyone base any action off of the latest "look at me" post / announcement / rant / grift / con / vilification?

The man has Center of Attention Deficit Disorder, a phrase I coined for a Patricia peer

i keep looking for a twitter from the US President indicating a tariff on Col. Hansen when they launch next week.

Trump says Republicans should ‘nationalize’ elections

“The Republicans should say, ‘We want to take over. We should take over the voting in at least 15 places.’ The Republicans ought to nationalize the voting,” he said during an appearance on former Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino’s podcast, which he relaunched Monday.

Seem like the battle drums of "states rights" is going the same way as the 2A in Trumps GOP.

I call it "Attention Whore Syndrome"

The AI definition
"Attention Whore Syndrome" isn't a formal diagnosis but a colloquial term for excessive, compulsive attention-seeking, often linked to Histrionic Personality Disorder (HPD), characterized by dramatic behavior, shallow emotions, and a constant need to be the center of attention, stemming from low self-worth and dependency on others' validation. People with these traits use excessive emotionality, seductive behavior, or self-dramatization to feel noticed, often leading to unstable relationships and a fragile sense of self, sometimes stemming from past trauma or neglect.

Direct contact between elected officials and criminal investigators is horrendously inappropriate and very concerning.

Not surprising he would want that, however it would be utterly unconstitutional.

Trump doesn't care about the constitution, and he definitely doesn't he care about "states' rights".

I think in his first time he had two things going for him: guard rails in the form of a "professional/establishment" staff that steered him away from the worst of it, and he was "less" senile then.

Now he has a staff of sycophants and nationalists, and he's too senile to even pretend to be staying within the guardrails.

So, speak on Mr. President! Let us hear more of your vision for a centralized, large, and all-powerful federal government!

He isn't the only one. Back when it was perceived that state control of elections helped Republicans at inconvenient times, a lot of people opined that a single federal system ought be imposed.
