I don’t know how anyone who witnessed that could not come to a conclusion the man is as maniacal as some of the darkest figures in history, and probably more unstable. You can literally see two or three personalities spitting out of his mouth. He just finished.
That was…something.
These are under some other ruling from the early 1960's that cover the other tariffs that were not covered by this ruling.
So if I'm Japan or Australia or the UK which already negotiated trade agreements all of a sudden have a 10% tariff against them. Australia, which has a rare trade deficit with the US just went from 10% to 20% in tariffs.
He has burned down the goodwill and trust of the US around the world.
They are but it will buy them some time to figure out something elseNot a ruling but part of the trade act of 1974. I'm not a lawyer but a blanket 10% global tariff seems a hard sell if these tariffs also get challenged in court as well.
Don Cherry is an elocutionist compared to this guy.I'm watching him as well. Its hard to watch him. I try to be neutral listening to him and its just plan impossible as an educated person. He is all over the map, rambling, incoherent from time to time. If this was a family member talking at a family gathering, I would honestly have them checked out by a medical professional.
150 days to get Congress on side. They are but it will buy them some time to figure out something else
That will be a struggle150 days to get Congress on side.
That will be a struggle
Every tariff struck down represents a revenue loss (deficit increase) that drops into Congress's lap. Neither party is eager to deal with that problem.150 days to get Congress on side.
The profound structural issues of the US Federal Budget will not be solved by tariffs.Every tariff struck down represents a revenue loss (deficit increase) that drops into Congress's lap. Neither party is eager to deal with that problem.
Nor will ours through just taxation. But nobody wants to acknowledge that. The profound structural issues of the US Federal Budget will not be solved by tariffs.
No, but hoping Congress isn't going to get "on side" with the administration isn't a sure thing. The administration is taking the heat for tariffs; Congress will take the heat for the increase in the deficit or a counterbalancing increase in other taxes. There are enough short-horizon next-election self-interested members for them to do the stupid thing. The profound structural issues of the US Federal Budget will not be solved by tariffs.
Sort of like Idi Amin.
It will be THE GREATEST EXILE EVERRRRR!!! And maybe they'll treat his neurosyphilis too...Sort of like Idi Amin.
Have to wonder if the end state will also be hiding in Saudi Arabia.

All those countries that raced to bend the knee and make disadvantageous ‘deals’ back in the spring and summer must be feeling really great about that right now. He’s upping the global tariffs even more. 10% to 15% now.
