Trump administration 2024-2028

A week ago they were leaking how he said they could do it quick and how he advocated for decapitation.

It's not even just the decision to attack. We're seeing how ideology trumped competence. They didn't take up Ukraine's counter drone offer before because the leader has a crush on Putin. They didn't move the ARG into theatre earlier because "No boots on the ground.". Heck, SecWar says this is a jihad.....err crusade. Maybe that's why he didn't think planning NEO and securing FOB was important.

Now the bullshit is catching up they are panicking. Since Trump doesn't allow admitting mistakes they have no idea how to show enough contrition to save their careers without getting fired or losing the base. So they are leaking to the press about how they are innocent. Next up they leak blame about each other to the press like a bunch of catty bitches.

he'd be better off with a trial run starting anytime now

Lol. After this he's toast. He can't keep the base if he blames Trump. And nobody else is going to vote for him after this.

Could be worse: Don Jr or Eric could be candidates!

You know they'll be running. And the best part is that they can claim they're the real anti-war candidates. And they'll be endorsed by Dad. Ivanka will be the first female POTUS.

I find the idea of him being a credible candidate laughable. Even amongst the MAGAs, he has the personality of a sick fish.

De-woking military education...

Task Force to Ensure Senior Service Colleges Focus on Building Warfighters

The War Department has launched a task force to ensure the curriculum at its institutions of higher learning is structured to build warfighters rather than social justice warriors, said Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

"At the Department of War, we have a duty to ensure that our professional military education develops real leaders, warfighters who dominate into the future," Hegseth said. "We're committed to making our own senior service colleges maintain the highest of standards, that those places align with President [Donald J.] Trump's commitment to the American people [and] that our military will remain the strongest in history."

More on that:

𝗛𝗘𝗚𝗦𝗘𝗧𝗛 𝗣𝗨𝗧𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗬 𝗪𝗔𝗥 𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘 𝗢𝗡 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘

Let's just read the list out loud one more time. Seminars on genocide through the analytic of gender. Whiteness studies. Courses 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 the history of H-m-s where a professor called terrorist attacks 𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦. Graduate studies on 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗮𝘄 𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. Leadership classes built on recycled DEI frameworks.

Guy who never attended a War College is so sure on what they need to teach....

Also, posts that whine about cultural topics covered in War College are up there with Hegseth's ignorance. War College =\= Staff College / JPME. It's not about how to learn to sink an aircraft carrier. That's the tactical level of war. War Colleges are supposed to be teaching Colonels and Future GOFOs strategy and how to integrate the rest of government into national level war plans. And yes sometimes that covers cultural education that other public servants are discussing.

100%

LCols, Majors and below can sink shit and blow shit up all day long. Colonels and higher should be looking at strategy - and history.

This is the problem with having a terminal Major dictate what Colonels and Generals should be taught.

I said before that he's their version of Paul Hellyer. I stand by it. Nothing worse than guys who served thinking they understand all of the military. Just enough knowledge to make them dangerous.

You mean like the barracks room lawyer ;)

A historical point to note - JFK was the captain of PT 109 during WW2. He distrusted senior and general officers.

Paul Hellyer was a gunner in the RCA in WW2. Its likely he distrusted generals and admirals as well.

Ex-military as President or Prime Minister? Useful. They should know what it's like before they send men and women into harms way. Ex-military as MND, SecDef, etc? Dangerous. They tend not to understand what civilian control of the armed forces means in reality. And they are almost universally terrible at strategic management and resort to micromanaging.

I can agree with your statement - it is useful but can be dangerous because of the bias one holds toward certain people and rank.

JFK was a junior officer and by most accounts his Squadron CO was a dick, therefore senior officers should not be trusted. He certainly didn't care for the Joints Chiefs of Staff....or any advice from them.

Studies of culture and politics have a place.

Cultural and political indoctrination masquerading as study of culture and politics does not.
