The premise of that discussion is that corruption isn't already normalized, which is not the case.

At the same time people are working to uncover and oppose corruption in the Trump administration, some of them are also working to protect the long-established pathways by which corrupt abuses of authority and money channels have been maintained for decades. It has gotten to the point that people don't even deny the latter and instead concede it; they criticize the administration for being corrupt while uncovering corruption.

Trump doesn’t have any understanding of humour, period. Any time he says something horrible and gets called out on; the White House reacts by claiming he was joking and infers that the press is too stupid to recognize a joke. Reagan and Obama knew humour; the rest so/so.
