De Santis is proposing eliminating property taxes for Floridians whose homes are valued under $250K (estimated to be as high as 60%). Non-residents like Canadian snowbirds who own property will not be exempt.

He’s trying to hard to make the term “Super Intelligence” happen when “Artificial Super Intlligence” is already a concept with specific and significant meaning, which we’re well short of still, and which has terrifying implications once achieved.

The anti-Canadian spin is news; the proposal is old news going back as far as late last year. The measure is at least in part intended to reduce growth in property tax revenues, which would constrain lower levels of government from growing spending to fit what might just be a temporary windfall situation.
