Turning the tap back on DP1 Infantry Course!

I'm wondering if anybody from this web site has any information WRT turning the tap back on to recruiting infantrymen? It seems many Battalions are undermanned but we continue not to be able to run any DP 1 courses. It just doesn't make sense. Then the instructors get side tracked into other tasks that have very little to do with training soldiers. That would be a completely different forum!

There are several problems.

(1) Most Bns have no idea of what their actual entitlement of personnel is.

(2) The Reg F Infantryman occupation remains overborne to a significant degree overall, even though there are shortages at some senior ranks.

(3) With Force 2013 coming down the pipes, there will be further chagnes to structures, which preclude increasing recruiting until the dust settles and a strong comparison of "Have now" vs "Need for the future" can be made.

Next AMORs will be this fall, they may give the Army some clarity about what's needed, and then let the Army prioritize requirements for recruiting and training for the coming years.
