TIRANA, ALBANIA - A U.S. military airplane has crashed while on a training mission in central Albania, likely killing everyone on board, Albanian Defence Department officials say.
The plane had taken off Thursday from the Mother Teresa Airport in the capital, Tirana, Defence Ministry spokesman Agim Doci told the Associated Press.
It crashed about 80 kilometres southeast of the city, in the district of Gramsh.
Nine people are believed to have been aboard the plane, Doci said.
They were participating in joint training exercises with Albania's military.
It wasn't immediately clear what caused the crash.
