Unread posts

A couple of questions/concerns regarding this.

Is there a "default" amount of pages for unread posts?  Last week, when I didn't have internet and was only checking periodically, I clicked on the link for unread posts and had about five pages.  Come Friday night with the internet hook up, there was only one page.

Also, I just logged in this morning over at the school and there was at least 10 (or more) unread posts.  I only looked at one, but now, logged on in the shacks, there were only about five or so.

I believe I had an issue like this before, where if I went to the sub-forum, the "New" icon was beside the posts, but several did not show up in the unread posts list.

I have noticed the same.

What happens is that it shows the unread posts since you were last on the site. When you close your browser, it starts again. If you want to get to all your unread posts, go to the unread posts link under your username, scroll to the bottom of that page and there will be a button marked "ALL UNREAD POSTS". Click that, and you'll get every post on the site you haven't read (sorted into threads, of course).
