USAF Colonel: Adultery law discriminates against heterosexuals

One man's scummy is another man's aggressive and comprehensive defence ...  :(

I didn't consider the defence scummy; it actually has some merit and I feel that if the US military thinks adultery within a military environment should be criminally sanctioned then it should apply equally in all situations including having sex with your fellow soldiers' common-laws, girlfriends, boyfriends etc etc (regardless of whether they are heterosexual or homosexual). Personally, while I see that such situations would/could have an impact on good order and discipline (and I've known of at least one such circumstance that was egregious) I'm of the view these matters should be handled administratively and not criminally.

What I thought was scummy were the particulars set out in the specifications.

100%. Innocent until proven guilty and all, but that many charges all at once is pretty greasy.

It seems that the Colonel's defense strategy has become moot.

DENVER  — A high-ranking Air Force Space Command officer who was charged with rape and other crimes was found dead in his Colorado home after civilian police received a report of a suicide, officials said Monday.

The body of Col. Eugene Caughey, 46, was found Sunday at his off-base home in Colorado Springs, city police said.

Authorities haven't said how he died.

Caughey was relieved of his duties in June 2015 after the rape investigation began, the Air Force has said. His court-martial was scheduled for Oct. 17.

. . . . .

Adultry is an old fashioned concept not in step with the 21st century.  :P

But, he also had the rape charge.

Perhaps just a misunderstanding ? :P

I watched enough eps of "Cops!" to know, "All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law!!”.  :)
