Vancouver-bound jet gets fighter escort

Vancouver â ” Two CF-18 fighter planes escorted an Air Canada jet as it landed here Tuesday after a threat.

Officials were tight-lipped about the type of threat that prompted the two fighter jets from CFB Comox to scramble and intercept the Boeing 767 as it flew to Vancouver from Toronto.

I remember once, when i was flying back to Hong Kong from Toronto, we stopped off in Vancouver. Just before our plane took off, a pair of CF18s landed right beside us. It was a real treat for a 8 yr old kid, lol

As if we didn‘t have enough reasons not to fly Air Canada.

But really, that‘s got to be a tough flight for those CF-18 pilots.
The possibility of having to take down a domestic airliner would undoubtedly be an unsettling experience.

Jeez, those coasties will do anything to keep those Tar-anna guys out of town.
