Armored glass does its job. :)

What's SOP for contact during a vehicle convoy in a situation such as the one in the video (assuming it's a patrol)?

Not sure what the TTP is but from viewing the video it looks like the air guard returned fire with his M4 and then it looked like he got clearance to engage with his MG.

Indeed.  "this glass saved my life"  Lucky guy.

Interesting video, the terrain reminded me of the Iraqi countryside. I also noticed the cam net over top of the vehicle, these were the things I mentioned in another thread WRT getting frags and incendiaries hung up in them, and then detonating above crew/pax etc.  One hung up in this net would have ruined everyone's day. Easy to lob off an overpass, or a rooftop from a nearby building, etc. Yes, and very difficult to remove when there is only seconds before detonition.

Yes thats a Chi-Com Type 56 for sure  , the bloke that has it is wearing ACUs. In our LAVs we often had captured AKs, one car having a MPiKM, the first one I ever in Iraq I seen, with it's unique pebbled butt.

Either a lucky shot or someone was a very good shot to hit where it did. It seemed to be the first shot.

For Canada, that would be OPSEC.

Americans? Not sure, but I ain't gonna speculate, for the same reason.
