The Oak Room was in the corner of the Oromocto Mall. It was the Steak 'N Stein before that, and the Fort (?) before that.
The Pioneer Club was in the small Mall by Mulder's Meats. It later became the Camelot or Comealot. I guess the new Camelot out by the highway (in the old Coop?) has closed down ending generations of .....................
I haven't heard of the Chestnut Club for some time. Remember when it was the Canoe Factory. It was a rather nice little Irish Bar in those days.
When you were really bored and broke on a Sunday afternoon, there was always the Oromoscow Hotel.

It's nice to have old folks around who haven't cooked off all their brain cells.
I once parachuted into the Riverview Arms. It was for some charity thing, "Valendive for the Arms" ??? Being February, the River was frozen enough to be a DZ. I guess they've got regulations and things now though.....that'll never happen again.

So.....you would remember "Chucky" and his Pigs for all seasons? He had the Easter Pig, a Thanksgiving Pig, a Christmas Pig, etc......and was later related by marriage to the Train Sisters.

Ah yes,
The Pioneer Club in the plaza (next to the Chinese Food place) did move up to Restigouche Road, where it promptly drew it's last breath before dying.
The same space in the Plaza is now occupied by...Dooleys. A rocking good time can be had there I tell you. :

I was on the same 3s as Chuck M - - not particularly housebroken as I recall. When Chuck D was a Sgt, he taught my HMG course. Small planet.

When the Camelot resurfaced (briefly) at the old CO-OP on Restigouche, their radio ad stated "Smoke 'em if you got 'em!". You see, at that time, Freddy was a smoke free place, but Oromocto was smoking permissive
