Waiting for first contact?

Hi,

It has been over a month since I submitted my Academic Questionnaire (on October 11th) and I submitted my supporting documents prior to that.

I believed that it would of taken about three weeks for them to get in contact with me to say if I was a suitable candidate or not.

So far I have...
Called my local recruitment centre who said they haven't gotten anything from North Bay and I have been waiting for a longer time than usual.  They told me to contact the RMC to try to get information.
I then contacted admissions at the RMC, and they said they could not give me any information so they told me to call the Virtual Recruitment Centre.
I gave them a call, over multiple days, until someone picked up and he told me he could not give me any information either.

What is the usual time frame between the submission of the documents and information and first contact?

Thanks in advance,
Alex Smith

So if you applied back in October, did you ever receive another email which tells you to "upload" your academic transcripts and RMC Questionnaire to the RMC Portal and did you do that???

I submitted my online application in Sept 2012. At that time, I received an email asking for some more documents (ie, birth certificate & transcripts). I submitted those and did not hear anything until April of 2013 when my file was transferred to the local recruiting center 7 months later. There was a point when I thought they looked at my application and immediately dismissed it.  Once my application got to the local CFRC things moved relatively quickly.

On the other hand, I've seen guys on here that apply and are at BMQ within 6 months. May have a lot to do with the trade you're applying for and where you're applying from.

check out this thread http://forums.army.ca/forums/threads/13064.0.html . You can view sample applications for many different trades, from all over the country and for the past 10 years.

One common piece of advice on this site seems to be "be persistant". It's the recruiters job to find people like to you so don't be shy but understand that applications take time. Another reason for delay (that I'm jsut figuring out myself) is the time of year. The CF fiscal year is coming to an end and new applications may not be getting processed as quickly as they might in Spring.

Clear as mud?!?! Read this site like you're studying for a final exam. There's a ton of info on here and it's very enlightening. There's a few guys with serious knowledge too, DAA is one of them. Very helpful guy (or girl).

Good luck!

Yes, I have completed that already and submitted it October 11th.

Chances are it may have been back logged.  During process hadn't been sorted out at that time, so there were probably some delays but I think it has been fixed now.

Check again with your centre sometime next week.
