I applied for Reserve Forces. However I have some question about the BMQ. As I noticed that during the summer, we will do the BMQ in the base countinusly everyday, and during the fall, we will do the BMQ sepately only on the Weedend time.

For some of you have alreally finished your BMQ, which kind of the BMQ is better? the summer time or the fall time? I need some advices.

Thanks

im shure if you do a search you will find all the information your looking for, i have heared summer bmq is better.

Although I did my QL2 a number of years ago. I would have preferred to do it over the summer. It helps build a sense of teamwork and comradeship. It also gets you more accustomed to the army life!

Weekend BMQ is very long and drawn out. It seems to take forever to end, and it‘s hard to get in to the "routine" when you are only there less than 48 hrs.

That said, if you do the weekend BMQ through the winter/spring, you can finish up by doing SQ and BIQ that summer (if you are infantry) and you are done, and qualified for your private‘s hook. If you do BMQ and SQ in the summer, you have to wait a year to do BIQ, as I don‘t think they run a weekend serial for BIQ‘s anywhere.

In the end, it doesn‘t matter, but it‘s nice to get the training over and done with quickly so you can get past the silly bits and get on with integrating into your unit and truly "joining the team".

...When I say "silly bits" I don‘t mean the courses are silly or that you shouldn‘t take them seriously. When you‘ve done the course, I think you‘ll understand what I mean...
