I read the original paper when it came out in 2021. One of a significant number of limitations is the immense amount of energy required to make it work. As a concept, interesting but not likely.

Besides we all know HyperSpace is the way to go ;)

What physical effects on the human body could that possibly have if a "warp" drive could be developed?

We wouldn't know of any physical effects until we have the technology and actually use it. What would for sure be changed is how we treat and perceive time itself.

This actually plays a pretty significant part in Joe Haldeman's 'The Forever War'.

But the human body is mostly the space between electrons.... we are mostly not here in any case.
