Washer/Dryer

Hello all  !

My dh (c4th) and I have an extra washer and dryer (came with the house) that we would like to offer to a military family in the Edmonton area.  The MFRC, Chaplain's office, and posting a notice at the Canex have come up with nothing and I really need the space they're using up.

Just went through a similar situation in Petawawa.  Landed up giving it away to a Charity that took care of people whose homes had been destroyed and Women who for various reasons were separated from their Husbands.  They picked them and other appliances up for free.  Didn't get any receipts for them though, like for other Charitable Donations.  Solved our 'Extras' problem and saved some room.

If you end up giving it away you might want to try freecycle.org, which is a yahoo situated group.

I tried several charities in my area but noone wanted to pick them up.  So I went the freecycle route and it looks like they're on their way to new families.

*ahem* freecycle is fairly addictive, isn't it.  It's taking all my willpower not to replace my old stuff with new junk!!
